What the video shows
Someone stands in front of a bare wall with a roller in one hand and a tape measure in the other, wondering how much paint to buy. She measures the wall, types on her phone, and the answer comes back. That is the whole idea of the calculator: you bring three measurements and the price from your own store, and it does the arithmetic.
Do it for your room
Measure the length and width of the room and the height of the walls, count the doors and windows, and choose one or two coats. The calculator takes the doors and windows off, picks the coverage for smooth or rough walls, and gives you gallons and quarts. Type your price per gallon only if you want the cost: it stays in your browser, and we never write a price for you.
Before you buy
- Two coats are the usual plan for walls; a big color change almost always needs them.
- New drywall, or a light color over a dark one, calls for a primer first.
- Round up: a spare quart is handy for touch-ups later.
